Findings suggest that a comprehensive strategy to reduce the amount of tobacco content on social media should be developed by federal regulators. Such actions may have downstream effects on adolescent and young adult exposure to protobacco content, and ultimately tobacco use behaviors.”

Comment: A legal framework with practical enforcement provisions is necessary to deal with social media promotion of cigarettes and alternative nicotine products like e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products. Sometimes laws are in place, but enforcement is not specified, practical, or pursued by authorities.
