England Proposes Smokefree Actions for Results by 2030

All Party Parliamentary Group on Smoking and Health: Delivering a Smokefree 2030: The All Party Parliamentary Group on Smoking and Health recommendations for the Tobacco Control Plan 2021. London: APPG on Smoking and Health. 2021. June 2021https://ash.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/APPGTCP2021.pdf
This 42 page proposal outlines steps to make England smokefree by 2030. It describes 12 recommendations that focus on reducing smoking for lower-income and vulnerable populations and includes raising the minimum age of smoking to 21 and putting a health warning on individual cigarettes. Importantly, a survey of over 10,000 people showed wide support for its recommendations; For example:

84% supported requiring businesses to have a license to sell tobacco which they can lose if they sell to underage smokers.

Seventy percent or more (70%+) supported tobacco manufacturers paying a levy to Government for measures to help smokers quit, funded education campaigns, quit information inserts in cigarette packs, and health warnings printed on cigarette sticks.
