EU report: Electronic Cigarettes have strong to moderate risks in key areas
European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks: SCHEER Report | There is strong evidence for risks of long-term systemic effects on the cardiovascular system and for poisoning and injuries due to burns and explosion. Moderate weight of evidence for risks of local irritative damage to the respiratory tract for heavy users of electronic cigarette due to the cumulative exposure to polyols, aldehydes and nicotine. Strength of risk for secondhand exposures is also described as moderate to weak based on present evidence
