May 31 is World No Tobacco Day

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reflects on the 20-year anniversary of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), noting progress against the “deadliest noninfectious agent in history, tobacco”.

The US Action on Smoking or Health posted that tobacco causes health and environmental damage, noting the need for food, not tobacco production, and the plastic waste problem in the environment from cigarette filters and plastic e-cigarette waste.
