Smoke – Free School
The campaign of the Non – smoking teacher network was established by the Action on Smoking and Health Foundation Thailand. There are volunteer teachers participating in this network for capacity building in the school setting. The purpose of this network is to campaign in network school so they become completely smoke free.
The Non – smoking Teachers Network campaign has driven its work in selected provinces by establishing several pilot projects establishing smoke free schools and has also attempted to expand its network to cover all schools in these provinces. Moreover, the Non-smoking Teacher Network campaign also works with Non-smoking Teacher Network activities at the provincial level to establish smoke free schools and smoke free communities.
Being aware of the smoking problem, the Non-smoking Teacher Network campaign has continually encouraged the spread of smoking knowledge / established activities to provide opportunities for students to participate and give input into these activities. Finally, lessons were distilled into a book, a manual from established smoke free schools to be used as a guide in driving smoke free school adoption more widely.
