Flavors are a growing attraction in both cigarettes and e-cigarettes

TRC Research Summary: Flavors are a growing attraction in both cigarettes and e-cigarettes
Truth Initiative and CDC Foundation. New report: US Sales of flavored e-cigarettes continue to rise. 5 Dec 2024.

“U.S. e-cigarette sales increased by 47% between 2019 and 2023, with 80.6% of sales attributed to flavored products, according to a CDC Foundation and Truth Initiative report.

A gap in federal regulation has left many of these youth-appealing flavored e-cigarettes widely available.”
Note: Three main points of the report: 1. “Disposable e-cigarettes still dominate the market, 2. Youth-appealing flavors are driving e-cigarette sales, 3. In the US, State policies lead the way in successfully reducing flavored e-cigarette sales.”

Comment: Inadequate monitoring and reporting of e-cigarette damage makes it easy for the vaping industry to suggest there are no disease consequences from e-cigarette use. However, serious consequences are often present from the sale of e-cigarettes. E-cigarettes are a dangerous product and should remain banned as a consumer product. Stephen Hamann
