Tobacco Control Research and Knowledge Management Center (TRC) is established as purposes of providing and sustaining academic tobacco control knowledge and also promoting tobacco control researches along with Thai society in order to obtain facts exploitable and move forward to the current tobacco situation in Thailand. As a result of Tobacco research collection which those research papers have been conducted in Thailand for the last three decades, TRC has found that collection contained totally 325 researches and a half of those were conducted by university students. Moreover, those researches have reflected to various in tobacco control areas such as theories and target groups. For this reason, TRC provides significantly supporting to any tobacco research which could benefit further on the tobacco prevention and control measurement.
In other to support the tobacco control along with the TRC purposes, affiliated sectors and the country’s policies, TRC frame works are as followings:

- to solve tobacco consumption by using a tax measure, to deal with tobacco free trade
- to make agreements on free trade between Thailand and other countries and regions and between Asian and other countries and regions

| Tobacco Cessation: |
|
- various levels of quitting smoking methods
- cessation service costs and a cost approximation per year for patients using health insurance in each system including the development of an efficient Quitline service
- finding causes of quitting smoking

| Tobacco Product Control: |
|
- control any tobacco product such as “Hookah”, shredded tobacco, smoke-less tobacco.
- ideas to impact and decrease dangers in world tobacco products causing any side effects

| Roll-Your-Own (RYO) cigarettes: |

- Roll-your-own situation,
- smoking plans,

| Tobacco Control Evaluation: |

- prohibition of using words “Light” or “Mild” on cigarette packages
- printing “toxic” or “carcinogenic” on cigarette packages
- increasing cigarette prices
- banning smoking in restaurants, bars and fresh markets and at point of sale (POS) display
- evaluating both efficiency of tobacco control media campaigns and success of driving tobacco control policies indicated by the number of cigarette smokers, smoker’s absence from work and sick leave
