TRC International Collaborating Center
The history of the development of the collaborations of Thai tobacco control advocates/researchers is long and is documented in several books and articles available in English.1,2,3 Though the means of collaboration have varied, three main realities have consistently guided the development of such collaborations:

  1. Tobacco control is multi-dimensional, requiring strategic interventions in several spheres of activity including health, policy and planning, and communications and advocacy.
  2. Tobacco control is successful based on evidence and collective action by multiple partners in support of tobacco control measures.
  3. Tobacco control is not successful when the interests of the tobacco industry are allowed to influence tobacco control decision-making.

The Tobacco Control Research and Knowledge Management Center (TRC) is dedicated to collaborative activity that provides evidence for tobacco control, and that provides learning experiences for those committed to developing tobacco control research skills, including investigative, analytical, communication and policymaking skills. TRC is happy to partner with those who share our commitment to research for tobacco control policy and achievement.
